Through KLDW 2009, we have realized the need to have a centralized unit of information that can manage and enlighten the creative communities of Malaysia of the current happenings and all the latest info. ADAM aims to function as the centralized information gateway for the creative community, to foster, to centralize and to disseminate creative news and activities. Through its website “Creative Calendar 2010”, ADAM will provide the creative event calendar year, to buzz about year-round happenings in the creative industry, ranging from performing arts, fine arts, design and many more. The website will serve as an open portal for the creative communities to advertise and publish activities to spark the Malaysian creative industry. Once a year, the community will also come together in the name of creative spirit for the KL Design Week Festival as well as other creative festivities.
ADAM will act as an amalgamation of local design communities including the KLDW community, Big Bros Workshop, Pipit, Digital Malaya, Children of Art as well as international communities like International Illustrators Alliance and The Design Alliance Asia with the rough figure of 20,000 as the collective members. Consequently, ADAM will also cater to the general creative community of Malaysia.
Monthly newsletters will be published to keep the community abreast of the latest creative news and activities. Apart from the net, hardcopies of the newsletter will also be printed out and distributed to the public through selected channels including universities and colleges, cafes and bistros, bookstores and many more. ADAM will also produce a directory listing of personnel, the who’s who in the creative industry. As the Art & Design Alliance Malaysia, ADAM serves to integrate not only people in the design industry, but also performing arts, fine arts, and other types of creative channels. The members of our alliance are made up from a broad range of creative industries such as Architecture, Animation and Motion Graphics, Web Design, Advertising, Illustration, Photography and many more.
